[d]Group Questions

  1. Read Romans 8:14–17 together.
Paul contrasts living like a slave with living like a son or daughter. According to this passage, what practical differences should you see in the life of someone who truly believes they have been adopted into God’s family? Where are you tempted to live more like a slave than a child?

  2. Read Galatians 4:4–7 and Hebrews 4:14–16.
Both passages describe privileges that belong to God’s children. What are those privileges? How should knowing you have full access to your Father change the way you approach prayer, repentance, and difficult circumstances this week?

  3. Read Luke 15:11–24 (the prodigal son).
Compare the son’s expectations with the father’s response. What does this story teach us about God’s heart toward His children? How does it challenge the way we often think God feels about us after we fail?

Prayer Prompt

Spend a few minutes thanking God—not for what He has done for you, but for who He is as your Abba Father. Confess any places where you’ve been trying to earn His love or approval, and ask the Holy Spirit to continually remind you that you are His beloved son or daughter. Pray for the confidence to run toward your Father this week instead of away from Him when you struggle.
