Week 3: Offering & Communion

January 8 & 11

[d]Group Questions

  1. Read Matthew 6:21 and Luke 22:7-15 as a group.

  2. Grief, not rebellion. Shannon said that for many people, tension around giving isn’t rebellion—it’s grief from past hurt. Where have you felt that grief or mistrust show up in your own heart, especially around church or money?

  3. Treasure = Allegiance. Jesus says our treasure reveals our heart. What does the way you currently spend or save say about what you trust most for security?

  4. Dependence over percentage. Jesus didn’t praise the widow’s amount—He praised her dependence. What would it look like for you to move one step deeper into dependence on God this month?

  5. Stained Glass Obedience. We’re ordinary people letting God’s light tell a bigger story through obedience. Where is God inviting you to obedience that feels costly, unseen, or uncomfortable right now?

  6. Coming to the Table Hungry. Shannon said, “This table isn’t for the strong—it’s for the hungry.” In what area of your life are you most in need of Jesus’ presence and restoration?

Prayer Suggestion: Pray that God would heal any grief or mistrust in our hearts, and teach us to trust Him as our true Provider. Ask Him to give us courage for deeper obedience and a renewed hunger for the presence of Jesus in our daily lives.?
