Week 3: When God Says “Yes”

February 12 & 15

  • The prayer God always says “yes” to…God change me.

  • Psalm 139:23-24

  • Psalm 139:22

  • Search me.

  • Psalm 139:1

  • Ask the Lord to reveal what’s beneath the surface of your heart.

  • Psalm 139:23

  • Test me.

  • James 1:2-4

  • Trials bring to the surface what is impure and not of God, and give us the opportunity to allow the Lord to remove it.

  • Psalm 139:24

  • Correct me.

  • Our Father reveals sin to heal us…not to shame us.

  • Psalm 139:24

  • Lead me.

  • Luke 11:28

  • Prayer is not about understanding, but about trust and obedience.

[d]Group Questions

  1. Read Psalm 139:23-24 together as a group.

  2. “Search me, O God…”
When you think about your recent reactions—especially moments of frustration, defensiveness, or withdrawal—what might be happening beneath the surface? What do those reactions reveal about what your heart wants, fears, or is protecting?

  3. “Test me and know my anxious thoughts…”
How have pressure or trials in your life recently revealed anxiety, control, or trust issues rather than created them? What might God be refining in you through this season instead of simply removing?

  4. “Point out anything in me that offends you…”
Why do you think it’s often easier to ask God to change circumstances or people than to ask Him to change us? Is there an area where you sense God inviting repentance, surrender, or a different response?

  5. “Lead me along the path of everlasting life…”
Where might God already be clear about the next step of obedience for you, even if the full picture isn’t clear? What would it look like to trust Him with obedience before understanding?

Group Prayer Prompt

Invite your group to spend intentional time in prayer together or separately, inviting the Lord to search, test, correct and lead you.
