Sometimes in suffering, we have a tendency to long for the past.
What’s your Egypt?
For some of us when life gets hard, we begin to fear the future.
Numbers 14:1-4
Fear of the future can make us shrink back from what God has called us to do.
Numbers 20:1-5
Doubt can convince us that God isn’t going to be faithful in the present.
Following Jesus isn’t about self-preservation…it’s about trusting Him in the moment to move forward in faith.
Jesus never promised “safe”…but he promised purpose and peace.

Looking Back
In Numbers 11:4-6, the Israelites longed for the comforts of Egypt, even though it meant slavery. What are some “Egypts” in your life — old habits, relationships, or comforts — that you’re tempted to return to when life gets hard? How can you intentionally resist those temptations?
Facing Fear
In Numbers 14:1-4, fear of the future kept the Israelites from stepping into the Promised Land. What’s one area of your life where fear has kept you from moving forward in faith? What would trusting God in that area look like today?
Feeling Stuck
Numbers 20:1-5 shows the Israelites frustrated in the wilderness, doubting God’s provision. Have you ever felt “stuck” spiritually, emotionally, or relationally? How did you (or how could you) choose to trust God in that season?
Faith in Action
Baptism was described as a public declaration of faith — a line in the sand. What’s a step of faith you believe God is calling you to take right now? What’s holding you back from taking it?
Living with Purpose
Jesus never promised safety, but He did promise purpose and peace (John 16:33). How can you live with greater purpose this week, trusting God in the present instead of waiting for “safer” circumstances?
