[d]Group Questions
Read Galatians 6:1–5. What do these verses teach us about how grace responds to someone else’s sin or struggle—and how we should respond to our own? Paul tells us to restore gently, carry one another’s burdens, and yet carry our own load. What would it look like practically to be compassionate toward someone else’s struggle while still taking responsibility for your own obedience?
Read Galatians 6:7–10. If “we harvest what we plant,” what are some ways we can intentionally “plant to the Spirit” in everyday life? Is there a seed God is asking you to keep planting even though you haven’t seen the harvest yet? What does verse 9 tell us to do in that space between planting and reaping a harvest?
Read Galatians 6:14–15. Paul says his only boast is “the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” What are we tempted to boast in—or depend on—besides Jesus? As you think back over the whole book of Galatians, how does the truth that the Gospel is “Jesus + nothing” change the way we view our successes, our failures, and our need for grace?
Prayer Prompt
Spend some time thanking Jesus that grace is enough and Jesus is enough. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you need to help restore someone, carry someone’s burden, take responsibility for your own obedience, or keep planting even when you can’t see a harvest yet. Then pray Galatians 6:14 over one another—that our lives would point away from ourselves and toward what Jesus has done on the cross.
